Job summary

Heart + Paw is hiring a Credentialed Veterinary Technician in Philadelphia (Callowhill). Anesthesia experience is required, with licensure in the state. The role offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus and quarterly production incentives for CVTs in a modern, pet-focused practice.

Qualifications

• Must have veterinary technician licensure in this state.
• 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills and a passion for client relationships.
• Ability to lift 20+ lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to pursue Fear Free and HABRI certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with routine appointments, surgeries, and patient care.
• Collect and process diagnostic samples, administer medications, and prepare for surgeries.
• Record detailed patient histories and manage pharmaceutical inventories.
• Take and interpret radiographs, including dental X-rays, and perform ultrasonic dental cleanings.
• Monitor general anesthesia, dress wounds, and assist with procedures like catheterization and ear flushes.
• Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and treatment areas.
• Educate clients on preventive care, dental hygiene, nutrition, and more.
• Collaborate with the team to create a positive work environment and onboarding of new employees.
• Promote services like grooming, daycare, and retail offerings.
