Job summary

Heart + Paw in Glenmont, NY seeks a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join a collaborative, pet-focused team. You will assist vets in routine care, surgeries, and diagnostics, while managing histories and inventories in a state-of-the-art facility.

Qualifications

• Licensure required in this state.
• 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills and a passion for client relationships.
• Lift 20+ lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Interest in using technology to improve veterinary care.
• Certifications (Preferred): Fear Free and HABRI or willingness to achieve them.
• Collaborative and adaptable team player.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with routine appointments, surgeries, and patient care.
• Collect and process diagnostic samples, administer medications, and prepare for surgeries.
• Record detailed patient histories and manage pharmaceutical inventories.
• Take and interpret radiographs, including dental X-rays, and perform ultrasonic dental cleanings.
• Monitor general anesthesia, dress wounds, and assist with catheterization and ear flushes.
• Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and treatment areas.
• Educate clients on preventive care, dental hygiene, nutrition, and more.
• Collaborate with the team to create a positive work environment and assist with onboarding new employees.
• Champion the company brand by promoting services like grooming, daycare, and retail offerings.

The pay range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position and is determined based on experience, skill set, location and other factors.

Pay Range

$25 - $28 USD
