Job summary

Heart + Paw in York, PA is seeking a Part-Time Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join a modern, pet-centered team. You will assist veterinarians in routine care and surgeries, manage samples, radiographs, and anesthesia, while engaging with clients to promote preventive care and wellness.

Qualifications

  • Valid PA veterinary technician license.
  • 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and a client-centric approach.
  • Ability to lift 20+ lbs in a fast-paced setting.
  • Interest in applying technology to improve care and client experience.
  • Willingness to pursue Fear Free and HABRI certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with routine appointments, surgeries, and patient care.
  • Collect and process diagnostic samples, administer medications, and assist with surgeries.
  • Record detailed patient histories and manage pharmaceutical inventories.
  • Take and interpret radiographs, including dental X-rays, and perform ultrasonic dental cleanings.
  • Monitor general anesthesia, dress wounds, and assist with procedures like catheterization and ear flushes.
  • Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments and treatment areas.
  • Educate clients on preventive care, dental hygiene, and nutrition.
  • Collaborate with the team to foster a positive work environment and assist with onboarding.
