Job description

Role Overview

Springboro Veterinary Clinic is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant for a full‑time position.

Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 7:30 – 7:30 with a 45‑minute break; Thursday PM (1:00 – 7:30) or Saturday AM (7:30 – 1:30) alternating.

Salary: Negotiable, based on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Triage patients and obtain thorough histories, vitals, and patient assessments.
  • Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, and procedures.
  • Provide compassionate, high‑quality nursing care from intake through discharge.
  • Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
  • Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, fluid therapy, and sample collection.
  • Obtain high‑quality radiographs and maintain imaging standards.
  • Run in‑house laboratory testing including CBCs, chemistry panels, urinalysis, cytology, and fecal testing.
  • Monitor anesthesia and patient vitals during procedures while maintaining accurate records.
  • Practice Fear Free and low‑stress handling techniques.
  • Educate clients regarding medications, discharge instructions, preventive care, and treatment plans.
  • Maintain clean, stocked treatment and exam areas while following infection‑control protocols.
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain efficient workflows and exceptional patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
