Job summary

Turkeyfoot Family Pet Center in Akron, Ohio, is hiring a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or an experienced veterinary technician. This full-time role (32–40 hours/week) offers a negotiable salary based on credentials, with a schedule of Monday–Friday, 7:15 AM–6:00 PM and rotating Saturdays.

There are no nights or holidays. We are AAHA-accredited, Fear Free Certified, Cat Friendly Certified, and Low Stress Handling Certified, committed to exceptional patient care and ongoing learning.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Veterinary Technician or have equivalent veterinary technician experience.
• Strong technical skills including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and laboratory procedures.
• Experience with digital radiography and diagnostic sample collection is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
• Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and laboratory sample collection.
• Obtain high-quality digital radiographs and run in-house diagnostics.
• Assist with surgical and dental procedures, including anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery.
• Educate clients on medications, treatment plans, and preventive care.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
• Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and laboratory sample collection
• Obtain high-quality digital radiographs
• Run in-house laboratory diagnostics, including CBCs, chemistry panels, urinalysis, and cytology
• Assist with surgical and dental procedures, including anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery
• Provide compassionate nursing care and patient monitoring throughout hospitalization
• Educate clients on medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate closely with doctors and teammates to provide exceptional patient care
