Job summary

Turkeyfoot Family Pet Center in Akron, Ohio is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or experienced technician for a full-time role (32–40 hours per week). Salary is negotiable based on experience and credentials.

Schedule is Monday–Friday 7:15 AM–6:00 PM with rotating Saturdays; no nights or holidays. We offer competitive pay, 401(k) matching, tuition support, and extensive benefits including medical/dental/vision, PTO, pet discounts, CE allowances, license and VTNE fee

Qualifications

  • RV T credential required or equivalent veterianry technician experience.
  • Experience with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and laboratory procedures.
  • Proficiency with digital radiographs and in-house diagnostics.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
  • Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and sample collection.
  • Obtain and process digital radiographs; run CBCs, chemistry, urinalysis, and cytology.
  • Assist with surgical and dental procedures including anesthesia monitoring and recovery.
  • Educate clients on medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and discharge instructions.
  • Collaborate with doctors and teammates to provide exceptional patient care.

What You’ll Do
  • Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
  • Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and laboratory sample collection
  • Obtain high‑quality digital radiographs
  • Run in‑house laboratory diagnostics, including CBCs, chemistry panels, urinalysis, and cytology
  • Assist with surgical and dental procedures, including anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery
  • Provide compassionate nursing care and patient monitoring throughout hospitalization
  • Educate clients on medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and discharge instructions
  • Collaborate closely with doctors and teammates to provide exceptional patient care
