Veterinary Technician

4 day, 10 hour shift with alternating Saturdays. 8am-6pm

Thrive South Lamar is looking for a Vet Tech to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

About You

As a Veterinary Technician, you'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing comprehensive care throughout their journey. Your work will include hands-on care such as outpatient treatments, laboratory tests, surgery assistance, and support services including admitting and discharging patients.

Experience & Skills Requirements:

• Veterinary technician licensure preferred.
• 1-2 years of Vet Tech experience
• Surgical, anesthesia, and dental experience required.

Role Responsibilities:

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
• Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
• Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act.
• Communicate with clients about pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and treatments.
• Maintain comprehensive medical records with practice systems.
• Obtain health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
• Use safe restraining techniques, follow protocols, and keep treatment areas clean and organized.
• Mentor and support fellow team members.

About the Hospital

Thrive South Lamar is a small animal practice located in Austin, operating Monday-Saturday from 8am to 6pm.
