Veterinary Technician - Emergency

Full-time: 3 day, 12 hour shift. One weekend day required.


Location: Round Rock, TX


Heart of Texas is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

About You

Role Responsibilities:

Perform a variety of animal-health duties to ensure quality pet and client care. Responsibilities include client care and communication, patient assessments, emergency response, patient monitoring, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, patient recovery, anesthetic monitoring, diagnostic imaging, and medical math.


Our Ideal Candidate:
  • Strong veterinary skills
  • Ability to handle animals appropriately
  • Assist in veterinary procedures
  • Recent veterinary practice experience
  • Willing to work weekends and holidays

Job Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of recent veterinary practice experience
  • Ability to perform routine veterinary procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Veterinary Technician license preferred
  • Previous emergency experience preferred but not required
