Qualifications

• Requires 5 years of experience caring for animals in veterinary settings, including 2 years in surgery.
• State certification through the Veterinary Medical Examining Board as a Veterinary Technician, or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor anesthesia for a wide range of species and procedures.
• Assist with surgery and perform selected surgical tasks independently.
• Monitor postoperative recovery and maintain surgical records.
• Prepare drugs and solutions for administration.
• Record physiologic data and complete operation reports.
• Maintain stock levels and coordinate purchasing of supplies.
• Train staff on anesthesia, aseptic technique, and postoperative monitoring.
