Job summary

Oregon Humane’s Medical Services team at the Community Veterinary Hospital seeks a Certified Veterinary Technician to support veterinarians during examinations, procedures and surgeries. You will restrain animals, collect samples, monitor anesthesia and record treatments with accuracy.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy shelter hospital environment. Weekend/evening shifts and a passion for animal welfare are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current CVT license as required by the State of Oregon.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume veterinary hospital.
• Experience with dogs and cats; exotics a plus.
• Willingness to work weekends, evenings and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with physical examinations and determine illness or injury.
• Handle animals of varying species and sizes in a caring, safe manner.
• Record patient data, vital signs and treatments accurately.
• Administer medications, fluids and blood products as prescribed.
• Assist in surgery, anesthesia monitoring and post-operative care.
• Maintain medical and treatment records and inventory control.
