Woodside Animal Hospital in Port Orchard, WA is hiring a Veterinary Receptionist / Veterinary Assistant for a unique hybrid role that blends front-desk client service with hands-on patient care. You’ll welcome clients, help with scheduling, and assist the medical team during procedures.

Responsibilities

• Welcome clients and their pets with a warm, professional attitude
• Answer phones and triage client questions appropriately
• Schedule appointments and help keep the day running smoothly
• Prepare records and paperwork for appointments
• Process payments and answer questions about routine services and fees
• Provide compassionate support to clients during difficult situations
• Communicate with clients by phone, email, and other correspondence
• Assist doctors and technicians with medical, surgical, and dental procedures
• Safely restrain and handle patients for examinations and procedures
• Monitor hospitalized and post-anesthetic patients and report concerns
• Prepare treatment areas, equipment, and surgical suites
• Assist with radiology, dentistry, anesthesia, and patient care
• Take heart and respiratory rates and perform other tasks
• Walk, clean, comfort, and care for hospitalized patients
• Help keep the hospital clean, organized, stocked, and ready for the next patient
• Provide clerical and medical-record support as needed
• The role will vary from day to day, so flexibility, initiative, teamwork, and a willingness to jump in wherever you’re needed are essential.

This is not a "sit-at-the-front-desk-all-day" job. This unique hybrid position combines hands-on Veterinary Assisting with Client Service. You’ll spend part of your day working directly with our patients and medical team, and part of your day helping our clients and keeping the front desk running smoothly.
