Job summary

Hartsdale Animal Hospital is hiring a full-time Veterinary Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our veterinary clients and to set a positive tone for every visit. You will excel in a fast-paced environment, communicate clearly, and show empathy as you support pet owners and their animals.

As a valued team member, you’ll manage appointments, payments, and client inquiries, while helping maintain a clean, welcoming reception area and a smooth clinic flow.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a veterinary receptionist is preferred.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Calm, professional, and positive demeanor.
• Empathy when discussing sensitive topics with clients.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and their pets, sign-in, confirm details, and escort to exam rooms.
• Handle payments, appointments, and scheduling.
• Answer calls for appointments, inquiries, refills, and follow-ups.
• Understand vaccination protocols and common veterinary terms.
• Maintain cleanliness and a welcoming client experience.

Salary: $20 - $22 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.

Schedule: This is a full-time position, with consistent hours Monday, Tues, and Thurs 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, and every other Saturday: 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM

Hartsdale Animal Hospital is hiring a full-time Veterinary Receptionist tobe the first point of contact for our veterinary clients, playing a crucial role in setting the tone for their visit. We are looking for a customer service professional who excels in a fast-paced environment, communicates clearly, and is passionate about animal care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet clients and their pets, complete the appointment sign-in process, confirm appointment details, and escort clients to exam rooms.
• Ensure accurate service and product sales accounting, handle payments, process credit/debit cards, and schedule future appointments.
• Answer client calls for appointments, hospital inquiries, medication refills, and other requests. Make outbound calls for appointment reminders and follow-ups.
• Understand common vaccination protocols, basic lab tests, common diseases, veterinary terminology, and pet behavior.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization to ensure a positive client experience.
