As a Receptionist, you will:

  • Receive and place calls to clients for scheduling purposes.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks in a calm, organized manner.
  • Maintain proper documentation through client and pet records, including referral documentation and medical history.
  • Assist clients by providing instructions, information, invoices, dispensing prescriptions as per veterinarian’s instructions, and scheduling appointments.
  • Utilize hospital computer systems to document medical records and communicate with clients and teammates.
  • Manage the hospital’s financial transactions accurately, following cash and credit procedures, and proper opening/closing protocols.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally.
  • Educate clients on preventative care, pet health needs, and hospital services to advocate for pets.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in all interactions with clients, pets, and teammates.
  • Show empathy toward clients and treat pets with compassion and respect.
  • Utilize standard office/business equipment.
  • Have knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
  • Be flexible with schedule, including some weekends and holidays.
  • Experience with veterinary software is preferred.
  • Work independently and accept direction on tasks.
  • Possess organizational skills.
  • Apply critical thinking to identify solutions and approaches to problems.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, good judgment, and stress management skills.

Pay range of $15.00-$17.00/hour based on experience.
