Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Veterinary Medical Director to lead our emergency and specialty services. You will oversee medical standards, mentor a team of veterinarians, and collaborate with hospital leadership to ensure exceptional patient care.

The role combines clinical leadership with strategic growth, offering a competitive ProSal package up to $220,000 base plus production bonuses, comprehensive benefits, and strong work-life balance in a collaborative hospital

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
• 5+ years of clinical experience, ideally in an Emergency/Specialty hospital.
• 1-2 years of leadership experience preferred.
• Strong communication and client service skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee medical standards and ensure patients receive high-quality care.
• Mentor a team of 21 veterinarians, including case consultation and guidance on complex or critical cases.
• Collaborate with hospital leadership on day-to-day operations.
• Monitor patient care, medical protocols, and compliance with hospital policies and veterinary standards.
• Lead or participate in medical rounds, case reviews, and team meetings.
• Address client escalations and medical/service concerns as needed.
• Partner with Hospital Director to identify opportunities to expand or improve medical services and contribute to long-term strategy.
