Qualifications

  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
  • 5+ years of clinical experience, ideally in an Emergency/Specialty hospital.
  • 1-2 years of leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and client service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee medical standards and ensure patients receive high-quality care.
  • Mentor a team of 21 veterinarians, including case consultation and guidance on complex or critical cases.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership on day-to-day operations.
  • Monitor patient care, medical protocols, and compliance with hospital policies and veterinary standards.
  • Lead or participate in medical rounds, case reviews, and team meetings.
  • Address client escalations and medical/service concerns as needed.
  • Partner with Hospital Director to identify opportunities to expand or improve medical services and contribute to long-term strategy.

In your day-to-day, you will:
  • Oversee medical standards and ensure patients receive consistent, high-quality care.
  • Support and mentor a team of 21 veterinarians, including providing case consultation and guidance on complex or critical cases.
  • Collaborate with the hospital manager and leadership team on day-to-day hospital operations.
  • Monitor patient care, medical protocols, and compliance with hospital policies and veterinary standards.
  • Lead or participate in medical rounds, case reviews, and team meetings.
  • Research, address, and aid in resolution of client escalations, to include medical concerns, customer service, and patient care issues as needed.
  • Partner with Hospital Director to identify opportunities to expand or improve medical services based on patient and community needs and contribute to long-term medical and operational strategy.
What You Bring
  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
  • Possesses a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, ideally in an Emergency/Specialty hospital, and a minimum of 1-2 years of leadership experience preferred.
  • Values integrity, exhibits superior communication, and displays excellent client service and patient care.
