Job summary

National Veterinary Associates seeks a Veterinary Hospital Manager for the Greater Chicago area to lead operations, drive revenue, and ensure top patient care and client service. You will partner with the Managing Veterinarian to run day-to-day hospital performance on-site.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in a managerial role, experience with P&L, budgeting, human resources, and a bachelor’s degree in business or related field; veterinary leadership is preferred but healthcare or service

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in a managerial role, including customer service experience.
• Experience in a hospital, retail, or service-based industry setting in positions of increased responsibility is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete ownership of P&L, accountable for the hospital's performance.
• Collaborate with regional leadership to identify trends and forecast the hospital's needs.
• Manage accounts receivable.
• Oversee hospital inventory and control facility and administrative costs.
• Manage payroll for hospital staff.
• Develop the hospital schedule and manage labor costs.
• Champion change and identify, document, share, and promote best practices.
• Lead the hospital team to enhance processes and workflows, covering client service, operations, and administrative tasks.
• Implement new technologies and initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
• Establish and drive the culture of the hospital.
• Track and maintain current licensures for all DVMs.
• Provide feedback and handle challenging conversations.
• Demonstrate and reinforce the highest level of client service.
