Job summary

Novak Animal Care Center is seeking a Veterinary Hospital Manager to lead a team, drive profitability, and ensure exceptional patient care and client service. In this role, you will work closely with the Managing Veterinarian to shape hospital operations, implement cost controls, and promote a culture of compassion and operational excellence.

You will oversee scheduling, payroll, inventory, and revenue-cycle activities while maintaining licensure for all DVMs.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is preferred.
• 3–5 years in a managerial role, including customer service.
• Experience in a hospital, retail, or service-based industry setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete ownership of P&L, accountable for the hospital's performance.
• Collaborate with regional leadership to forecast the hospital's needs.
• Manage accounts receivable.
• Oversee hospital inventory and control facility and administrative costs.
• Manage payroll for hospital staff.
• Develop the hospital schedule and manage labor costs.
• Champion change and identify, document, share, and promote best practices.
• Lead the hospital team to enhance processes and workflows, covering client service, operations, and administrative tasks.
• Implement new technologies and initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
• Establish and drive the culture of the hospital.
• Track and maintain current licensures for all DVMs.
• Provide feedback and handle challenging conversations.
• Demonstrate and reinforce the highest level of client service.
