Hospital Administrator

Thrive Pet Healthcare is looking for a Hospital Administrator to join our Miami location. Must have veterinary management experience. This role leads a team of professionals dedicated to providing excellent patient and customer care, ensuring a positive culture built on shared values, direct communication, operational efficiencies, and improved client service and employee engagement. The Administrator is responsible for overseeing business activities of the hospital, including staff hiring and training, budget preparation and management, performance analysis, fee setting, inventory control, hospital software management, and safety and security procedures.

  • Communicates practice values and mission to the team, motivates staff, and builds morale.
  • Upholds core values and standards.
  • Holds regular staff meetings with mandatory training on service and care standards.
  • Promotes a cooperative working environment and teamwork.
  • Willing to perform necessary tasks to keep the hospital functioning as a unit.
  • Promotes continuous quality improvement (CQI) to achieve the practice’s vision.
Requirements
  • Ability to analyze various sources of data to set priorities and initiate operational programs.
  • Sound personal judgment in decision‑making.
  • Capable of leading, managing, and coaching staff at all levels.
  • Demonstrated competence in staff management, including hiring and firing.
  • Empathy toward clients and respect for animals.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Commitment to outstanding client service.
  • Competence in budgeting and financial reporting, including reading and analyzing a P&L statement.
  • Solid math and Excel/spreadsheet skills.
  • Certified Veterinary Practice Manager designation or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Three years of supervisory experience.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
  • Preferred: Three years or more of managing a veterinary practice.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing 40 pounds without assistance and objects weighing more than 40 pounds with assistance.
  • Availability to occasionally work uncommon hours, overtime, and to be recalled for emergencies.
