East Suburban Animal Clinic is a 5+ doctor small animal practice that emphasizes supportive care and shared learning. The clinic focuses on dentistry, ultrasound, and nutrition.
Students will work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical examinations, creating treatment plans, conducting diagnostics, providing dentistry services, observing or assisting in surgical procedures, and managing the medical care of patients. They will also have the opportunity to practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Externships range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules, and are available to students in their final clinical year of veterinary school.
Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend.
