Northpointe Animal Hospital Externship

The Northpointe Animal Hospital in Lynnwood, WA is a well‑established site providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care. The facility offers state‑of‑the‑art equipment, including a dental x‑ray machine, laser therapy, ultrasound, and a dental delivery machine, and has recently completed a renovation.

• 4 surgery days per week
• Expanding dentistry services
• State‑of‑the‑art equipment including dental x‑ray machine, laser therapy, ultrasound, and dental delivery machine

Responsibilities

• Gather patient histories
• Perform physical examinations
• Create treatment plans
• Conduct diagnostics
• Assist in or perform dentistry services
• Observe or assist in surgical procedures
• Manage patients medically
• Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients

Qualifications

• 3rd or 4th year veterinary student
• Enrolled in the clinical portion of the veterinary education program
• Eligible for a travel/living expense stipend of $1,500

Stipend and Working Hours

Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules.
