Job description

Northpointe Animal Hospital in Lynnwood, WA, is a well-established site providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care. We are strong in surgery/dentistry and urgent care. Our staff is Fear Free trained, and we are pursuing AAHA accreditation in the near future. We are currently running 4 surgery days and are focused on continuing to grow out our ever-expanding dentistry services.

We recently underwent a renovation and offer state-of-the-art equipment such as a dental x-ray machine, laser therapy, ultrasound, and dental delivery machine. We have constructed a new surgery suite, an x-ray room, an exclusive dental suite, a brand-new doctor’s office space, five exam rooms, and a spacious treatment area.

Students will work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creation of treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing/assisting or performing surgical procedures, and medical management of patients. In addition to practicing their clinical skills, student externs will have the opportunity to practice their communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules. Externships at Northpointe Animal Hospital are designed for 3rd and 4th year veterinary students.

Veterinary students who are in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. The stipend amount for Northpointe Animal Hospital is $1,500.
