National Veterinary Associates is looking for clinical-year veterinary students for externships at their Kirkwood, MO location. This opportunity includes hands-on experience in daily operations, patient care, and a supportive learning environment. Students will receive guidance from experienced veterinarians and may qualify for a stipend to cover living expenses during their externship.
An externship experience at an NVA hospital offers veterinary students the opportunity to understand the daily operations of a veterinary practice and gain hands-on clinical experience. While each NVA hospital has its unique features, all share a supportive environment committed to excellent medicine and providing exceptional service to animals and their owners.
Our hospital has served the community since 1960, and many clients have been with us since the beginning. We are currently designing a new facility nearby to enhance our services and support growth.
Externs will work closely with supervising veterinarians to gain experience in patient histories, physical exams, treatment planning, diagnostics, dentistry, surgical procedures, and medical management. They will also develop communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Externship durations range from two to eight weeks, depending on schedules. These externships are available exclusively to clinical-year veterinary students.
Eligible veterinary students in the clinical phase of their education may receive a travel/living expense stipend. Click HERE to view stipend amounts and HERE for stipend program details.
