Job summary

Basking Ridge Animal Hospital in New Jersey is seeking a friendly, organized Veterinary Receptionist to greet clients and their pets, answer calls, schedule appointments, manage emails, and monitor the online pharmacy.

You will collect and update client medical histories, assist with paperwork, fill prescriptions when needed, and work as part of a caring team to keep the reception and pharmacy area clean and efficient.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as receptionist or in a customer service role is preferred.
• 4+ years of Veterinary Receptionist experience (noted in requirements).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Proficient computer skills; Cornerstone a plus.

Duties:

• Greet and welcome clients and their pets to the veterinary clinic
• Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, manage email and monitor online pharmacy
• Collect and update client information, including medical history and client information
• Assist with filing and organizing paperwork
• Provide basic information to clients regarding pet care and veterinary services
• Work as a team with veterinarians and technicians to ensure smooth workflow
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception and pharmacy area
• Fill prescriptions for patients, knowledge of medications and medical terminology a plus
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a receptionist or in a customer service role is preferred. Salary negotiable with 4+ years of Veterinary Recepionist experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Proficient in computer skills, knowledge in Cornerstone a plus
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Compassionate and caring attitude towards animals and people

Shifts are as follows:

8am - 2 pm, 1pm to 7pm and rotating Saturdays (two per month) 8am to 4pm

Must be flexible with scheduling and have the ability to cover shifts as needed NOT HIRING FOR SEASONAL OR SHORT-TERM WORK.
