Louisiana State University VetMed seeks a WAE-Client Services Representative to join the front desk team. You will greet clients, manage appointments, process payments, and coordinate communication between clients and clinicians in a busy teaching hospital.

Responsibilities include patient check-in/check-out, data entry into medical records, and supporting student and staff workflows. This is a part-time fixed-term role with a strong emphasis on compassionate client service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree AND 1+ years of customer service experience.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree AND 2+ years in veterinary or medical customer service.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients, students, and visitors professionally and compassionately.
• Explain hospital procedures, service expectations, wait times, and updates.
• Provide emotional support to clients during stressful visits with discretion.
• Notify clinical services of client arrivals and manage check-in/check-out.
• Handle scheduling across general and specialty services and follow up on cancellations.
• Process financial transactions and ensure accurate billing at discharge.
• Enter client data into medical records software and maintain confidentiality.
• Maintain front desk cleanliness and organize waiting areas and materials.
• Collaborate with faculty, technicians, and students to support smooth patient flow.
• Assist with training of veterinary students on client service protocols.
