Job summary

CareVet of Freeport in Freeport, ME seeks a friendly front desk receptionist to join our growing urgent care and general practice team. You will greet clients, schedule appointments, process payments, and help keep patient records accurate.

This role values teamwork, strong communication, and a positive, can-do attitude. A high school diploma and comfort with basic computer software are preferred; on-the-job training is provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Comfort with technology and quick learner.

Responsibilities

• Checking patients in, discharging patients, invoicing
• Provide customer service such as greeting customers, answering questions, processing incoming patients, and handling payments
• Answer phone calls which may include answering questions, scheduling appointments and recording messages for doctors and staff
• Handle incoming and outgoing mail and email
• Update and file patient charts
• Enter data into computerized billing program
• Retrieve prescriptions
• Assist with pet supply purchases such as food, supplements, and grooming items
• Maintain the cleanliness of waiting room
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stoop, bend, and stand on feet for long periods
