Job summary

All Valley Animal Care Center in Meridian, Idaho, is seeking an upbeat, self-starting veterinary receptionist with strong customer service and communication skills to join our Day shift team.

You will greet clients, triage questions, schedule appointments, process payments, and support our DVM and staff while ensuring a compassionate, pet-friendly experience for every client. Prior veterinary CS experience is preferred and benefits include PTO, health insurance, and a 401k.

Qualifications

• Experience in veterinary customer service or related field preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Ability to listen actively and triage client needs with empathy.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional service to clients in person, by phone, or email and act as liaison between client and DVM.
• Answer calls and emails promptly; triage and direct questions to appropriate staff; make appointment reminders.
• Schedule appointments and boarding reservations as needed.
• Dispense pharmaceuticals as appropriate and call prescriptions to pharmacies.
• Process payments and maintain accurate client/patient records in the system.
• Provide product and service information to clients.
• Balance cash receipts accurately.
• Keep client areas clean and organized.

Job Duties

• Providing quality, professional service to all clients whether in person, over the phone, or through email. Readily acknowledges and engages clients and actively listens to their concerns. Serves as liaison between client and DVM.
• Promptly answering phone calls or replying to email messages and efficiently directing questions to the appropriate individuals. Demonstrates ability to triage situations and advise a client when an appointment is recommended. Makes reminder calls as necessary
• Accurately scheduling appointments and boarding reservations as applicable.
• Precisely dispensing pharmaceuticals as needed and calls in prescriptions to pharmacies.
• Using computer information system to accurately process client payments and maintain current client/patient records. Ensures appropriate forms are completed for euthanasia, surgeries, etc.
• Providing knowledgeable information to clients regarding our products and services.
• Accurately processing payments and balancing cash receipts.
• Assisting in maintaining the cleanliness of client areas.
