Job summary

The JOY FM is seeking a veterinary assistant to support the veterinarian and veterinary technicians in day-to-day patient care. This role includes phlebotomy, cytology, patient restraint, administering medications, obtaining histories, filling prescriptions, taking radiographs, maintaining a clean clinic, and assisting with surgeries and minor procedures.

Ideal candidates will have 1 year of veterinary assistant experience or completion of an assistant/technician program with clinical hours.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in veterinary assistant position or completed assistant/technician course and clinical hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarian with patient care including phlebotomy, cytology, patient restraint.
• Administer medications and collect patient histories.
• Fill prescriptions and perform radiographs.
• Maintain clean clinic and schedule appointments.
• Collect payments and assist in surgeries or minor procedures.
