Job summary

Gentle Doctor Animal Hospital, part of PetVet Care Centers, is hiring a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in daily tasks including patient care, equipment prep, and clerical duties. The role offers exposure to a fast-paced practice with opportunities for hands-on learning across surgeries, exams, and radiology.

The successful candidate will have at least 2 years of veterinary experience, strong understanding of protocols, and a passion for pet welfare.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a veterinary technician or assistant.
• Strong understanding of veterinary medical protocols, patient care and hospital operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients.
• Greet patients and owners, take weight and vital signs.
• Triage patients, assist with exams, treatments and medications.
• Calm and soothe anxious patients.
• Assist doctors and technicians with medications or restraints.
• Perform basic lab tests and radiographs.
• Maintain hospital equipment and supplies.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
• Show up for a full-time schedule.
