Job summary

The JOY FM is seeking a compassionate veterinary assistant to provide daily care for dogs and cats in our care, including feeding, walking, and monitoring health. This role supports the veterinary team in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Responsibilities include cleaning, kennels, laundry, stocking, and following safety procedures. Previous animal care experience is preferred but not required; weekend and holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with animals is preferred but not required.
• Dependable and responsible.
• Able to handle dogs and cats of different sizes and temperaments.
• Able to work in a fast-paced veterinary environment.
• Physically demanding duties including standing, walking, bending, cleaning, and lifting.
• Positive attitude and genuine concern for animal welfare.
• Available to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care: feed, water, walk, and monitor animals.
• Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, and surrounding areas.
• Change bedding and maintain a clean, sanitary environment.
• Assist with basic animal handling and restraint as directed by the veterinary team.
• Observe animals for changes and report concerns to staff.
• Help with laundry, cleaning, stocking, and other general clinic duties.
• Follow clinic safety and sanitation procedures.
