PetMedic - Portland is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our urgent care team. You will provide compassionate care to pets and families, prepare examination rooms, and support doctors in fast-paced settings to ensure high-quality care.

Responsibilities include medical record accuracy, patient assessments, and coordinating with clients on procedures and home care. Role offers competitive hourly pay and a supportive, growth-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ year veterinary experience or education is required or preferred.
• Team-oriented approach to work and patient care.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their families.
• Maintain accurate medical records according to hospital policy.
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Perform physical assessments and record observations.
• Prepare estimates for procedures and discuss financial commitments with clients.
• Explain follow-up and home care instructions to clients.
• Stock clinic areas and inform inventory when items need reordering.
• Care for surgical materials and keep the operating room stocked and ready.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their loved ones
• Keepaccuratemedical recordsin accordance withhospital policy
• Prepare andmaintainthe exam rooms and treatment areas
• Perform physical assessments and record your observations
• Prepare estimates for procedures anddiscussesfinancial commitments with clients
• Explain necessary follow-up and home care instructions
• Stock clinic treatment area and exam rooms, and inform inventory manager when supplies need to be ordered
• Care for all surgical materials and keep the operating room properly stocked and prepared for surgery
