WellHaven Pet Health is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, ensuring patient well-being, educating clients, and upholding high care standards. The role focuses on clinical tasks, client communication, and efficient hospital operations.

You will handle reception duties, learn and apply veterinary procedures, and work in a fast-paced hospital environment. This position emphasizes reliability, teamwork, and patient care at our Helena, MT location.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 6+ months of experience in the veterinary industry.
• Completion of a NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in surgical, dentistry, laboratory procedures and venipuncture while maintaining sterile, safe environment.
• Contribute to day-to-day efficiency and hospital operations.
• Communicate effectively with team members and clients.
• Maintain accurate medical charts meeting hospital quality standards.
• Educate clients about wellness plans and pet care.
• Assist in reception duties: phone calls, scheduling, patient intake/discharge.
• Obtain medical history and patient information.
• Manage hospital supplies and restock as needed.
