Job summary

Valley Veterinary Hospital of Helena – WellHaven Pet Health is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in clinical care and client education. The role includes assisting with surgery, dentistry, labs, and patient handling, while maintaining high standards of safety and charting.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or equivalent, 6+ months in a veterinary setting, and NAVTA-approved training preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program preferred.
• 6+ months experience in the veterinary industry or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and technicians in surgeries, dentistry, labs, venipuncture, and sterile environment protocols.
• Assist with reception duties: scheduling, phone calls, patient intake and discharge.
• Maintain accurate medical records and educate clients about wellness plans.
• Manage hospital supplies and inventory, ensuring restock as needed.
• Provide professional, courteous service to clients and engage effectively with the team.
• Adhere to OSHA standards and company policies.
