Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, ensuring patient safety and continuity of care. You will engage with clients to educate on pet health and preventive care while following NAVTA guidelines.

This role emphasizes hands-on patient flow, communication with the veterinary team, and mentoring others as part of a collaborative hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate from NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to perform all required skills of NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant programs.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain the flow of patients.
• Communicate with the veterinarian and vet techs.
• Carry out procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance.
• Adhere to hospital standards to keep pets safe and areas clean.
• Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans and preventive care.
• Mentor other members of the hospital team.

Education
