Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, ensuring patient safety and continuity of care. You will help manage patient flow, assist with procedures, and educate clients on preventive care.

Ideal candidates have NAVTA-approved training or equivalent, with a high school diploma preferred, and are ready to contribute to a collaborative hospital team and ongoing learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Certificate from a NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to perform NAVTA program skills as needed.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain the flow of patients.
• Communicate with the veterinarian and vet techs.
• Carry out or set up procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance.
• Adhere to hospital standards to keep pets safe and areas clean and organized.
• Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans and preventive care.
• Mentor other members of the hospital team.
