Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our hospital team and help ensure the safety of pets, clients and staff while supporting veterinarians and technicians.

You’ll use technical skills daily, educate clients on preventive care, and help maintain smooth patient flow in the clinic. A NAVTA‑approved program certificate or equivalent education is preferred, with high school diploma as a plus.

Qualifications

• NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program certificate or equivalent education/experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to perform NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program skills.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain the flow of patients in the clinic.
• Communicate with the veterinarian and vet technicians.
• Carry out procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance.
• Educate clients about preventive care and available plans.
• Mentor other members of the hospital team.
