Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in delivering quality veterinary care for all pets. The role includes educating clients on preventive care and hospital services, maintaining medical charts, and assisting with surgeries and procedures as allowed by state practice acts.

We expect NAVTA-certified or equivalent education, strong communication, and a proactive attitude toward patient safety and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Education compatible with NAVTA Veterinary Assistant program or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of veterinary best practices and patient care.
• Comfort with NAVTA approved skills and duties in practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians to ensure high-quality pet care.
• Educate clients about pet health, preventive care, and hospital services.
• Obtain patient history and maintain accurate medical charts.
• Assist with procedures and monitor hospitalized or surgical patients as permitted by state rules.
• Mentor paraprofessionals and maintain a clean, safe hospital environment.
