Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, ensuring safe care for pets and a smooth hospital flow. The role emphasizes learning, development opportunities, and adherence to NAVTA guidelines within state practice acts.

You will engage in daily tasks, educate clients about preventive care, and help maintain a clean, organized environment while mentoring other team members as needed.

Qualifications

• NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent education and experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must perform NAVTA-approved program skills to aid practice efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Helping maintain the flow of patients
• Communicating with the veterinarian and vet techs
• Carrying out or setting up procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance
• Adhering to hospital standards that keep pets safe, and the treatment areas, exam rooms and labs clean and organized
• Educating clients about Optimum Wellness Plans and preventive care
• Mentoring other members of the hospital team
