The role emphasizes NAVTA-aligned skills, teamwork, and a commitment to upholding hospital standards. A NAVTA-approved program certificate or equivalent experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to perform NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program skills at a level that aids in the efficiency of the practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure the safety of pets, clients and staff.
• Communicate with veterinarians and vet techs to coordinate patient care.
• Educate clients about preventive care and Optimum Wellness Plans for their pets.
• Maintain hospital standards for cleanliness and safety in exam rooms and labs.
