Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, ensuring the safety of pets and clients while maintaining high-quality care. You will help manage patient flow, communicate with the team, and educate clients on preventive care and our Optimum Wellness Plans.

Preferred education includes a NAVTA-approved program certificate and, optionally, a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program certificate or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to perform all required skills of NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant programs.

Responsibilities

• Support and assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
• Ensure safety of pets, clients and associates and continuity of care.
• Maintain flow of patients and communicate with veterinarians and vet techs.
• Carry out procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance.
• Educate clients about preventive care and Optimum Wellness Plans.
