Mid Island Animal Hospital – Hicksville, NY

Pay range - starting at $16.50/hr (DOE)

Are you the type who stays cool under pressure, doesn’t bat an eye at unexpected bodily fluids, and actually enjoys restocking supplies in oddly satisfying ways? Great—because we’re looking for a Part-Time or Full time Veterinary Assistant to join the crew at Mid Island Animal Hospital in Hicksville, NY.

Our assistants are an essential part of what makes our hospital run smoothly. You’ll support our doctors and technicians in providing exceptional care to patients while keeping things organized, efficient, and (mostly) fur-free.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Mastering the art of safe, confident animal handling and restraint
• Assisting with treatments, diagnostics, and procedures—you’ll be right in the mix
• Chatting with clients to collect patient histories (bonus if you can translate “he’s just been off lately” into medical relevance)
• Keeping exam and treatment areas clean, stocked, and ready for action
• Growing your skills every day—because we’re all about learning and leveling up

What We’re Looking For:

• 2+ years of experience in a veterinary setting (kennel, CSR, assistant, etc. – we love a versatile background!)
• Strong communication chops and a knack for multitasking without melt-down
• A calm, can-do attitude when things get hectic (and let’s be honest, they will)
• The ability to lift and restrain pets up to 40 pounds and stay on your feet for most of the day
