Job summary

Premier Veterinary Group Mundelein is seeking a Veterinary Assistant for Emergency & Critical Care in Mundelein, IL. This full-time position offers 3 twelve-hour shifts or 4 nine-hour shifts per week, with rotating weekends and some holiday coverage.

Compensation is $16/hr, with a $5/hr overnight differential, depending on experience. You will work alongside emergency clinicians and a supportive team, restrain patients, maintain clean care areas, stock supplies, assist with daily laundry, and

Qualifications

  • Must have worked or volunteered with dogs and cats in a clinic, Humane Society, Kennel, or similar.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
  • Willingness to work beyond scheduled hours when needed.
  • Team-oriented attitude and willingness to help across roles.

Responsibilities

  • Safely restrain patients for examinations, treatments, and diagnostic procedures.
  • Maintain clean, sanitized patient care areas, including kennels, treatment spaces, and hospital floors.
  • Keep treatment areas fully stocked and organized to support efficient patient care.
  • Assist with daily laundry to ensure clean linens and supplies.
  • Walk and exercise hospitalized patients while monitoring their comfort and well-being.
  • Prepare and provide meals for hospitalized patients according to their care plans.
  • Support the medical team by maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient hospital environment.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail while effectively prioritizing and multitasking in a fast-paced setting.

In your day-to-day, you will:
