Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospitals in the United States seeks a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, ensuring high-quality patient care and educating clients about health services. You will help with procedures, maintain clean treatment areas, and ensure safety for pets and staff.

Educating clients about wellness plans, preventive care, and hospital services is essential, along with maintaining accurate medical charts and collaborating with the team.

Qualifications

• Certificate of NAVTA-approved Veterinary Assistant program or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to perform NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant skills to aid efficiency.
• Must be 18+ years old for radiography duties.
• One year related experience with customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
• Assist veterinarians and technicians to ensure quality care and maximize productivity.
• Communicate with veterinarians, technicians and associates to maintain patient flow.
• Provide professional, efficient and exceptional service at all times.
• Educate clients about preventive care, hospital services and wellness plans.
• Obtain client history and maintain complete medical charts.
• Ensure safety of pets and staff by following protocols and maintaining clean areas.
• Assist with surgery as applicable and mentor paraprofessionals.
• Utilize NAVTA guidelines for veterinary assistant skills.
