Qualifications

• Certificate of completion from a NAVTA approved Veterinary Assistant program or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to perform NAVTA veterinary assistant program skills as required by the practice.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure quality pet care.
• Educate clients about pet health and Optimum Wellness Plans.
• Obtain medical history from clients and maintain charts.
• Ensure safety by using proper restraining techniques and keeping areas clean.
• Assist with surgical procedures as applicable.
• Mentor paraprofessionals in the hospital.
