Petco is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to provide exceptional medical care and customer service in our Vetco Total Care hospital. The role supports veterinarians, assists with surgeries and exams, and helps maintain a compassionate, efficient practice that puts pets first.

Ideal candidates have strong communication, teamwork, and computer skills, with at least 1 year of veterinary experience. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential for day-to-day hospital duties.

Qualifications

• Preferred 1 year of experience in veterinary practice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication required.
• Compassionate, professional demeanor under stress.
• Must have telephone and computer skills.
• Team player willing to learn and adapt.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, obtain weights and vital signs, and record EMR.
• Assist doctors with routine and emergency appointments, surgeries, dentistry.
• Handle patient restraint, collect samples, and dispense medications.
• Schedule appointments and educate clients; update records.
• Support anesthesia procedures and monitor patients during surgery and recovery.
• Maintain hospital cleanliness and assist training of staff.
