Job summary

PetVet Care Centers’ Loving Hands Animal Clinic in Alpharetta, GA is seeking a Veterinary Technician to support veterinarians and staff in daily tasks, including patient care, equipment maintenance, and clerical duties. This position can be full-time or part-time, with a schedule from Monday to Saturday and rotating on-call weekends.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position
• Relevant experience in a veterinary setting is required

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients
• Greet patients and owners and take weight and vital signs
• Triage patients, perform physical exams and administer medications as directed
• Calm and soothe anxious patients
• Assist doctors and technicians with medications and patient restraint
• Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs
• Operate and maintain hospital equipment
• Fill prescriptions and maintain medication documentation
• Feed patients and record appetites and report anomalies
• Educate clients about insurance, wellness and plans
• Maintain hospital cleanliness and safety
• Bath and groom patients staying overnight
• Adhere to safety and wellness regulations
• Maintain medical records and document directions
• Show up for work on schedule; full-time presence required
• Promote hospital products and services
• Respond to directions from DVM or LVTs
• Perform other duties as assigned by Manager
