Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in veterinary practice
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Compassionate and sympathetic, professional demeanor
• Telephone and computer skills
• Team player willing to learn new techniques

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, escort to exam room, obtain weight and vitals, document in EMR
• Assist doctors with routine and emergency appointments, surgeries, dentistry, euthanasia
• Handle and dispense medications under veterinarian direction and maintain EMR
• Schedule appointments and provide client education, relay test results
• Prepare patients for dental/surgical procedures and assist during anesthesia
• Perform in-hospital treatments and monitor vital signs during anesthesia and recovery
• Assist in training new staff and disseminate knowledge as required
• Keep hospital environment neat and clean per maintenance schedule
• Provide backup phone and front desk support as needed
