Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital seeks a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, educate clients on wellness plans, and maintain accurate medical records. You will assist with procedures, ensure a safe hospital environment, and help mentor paraprofessionals.

The role requires NAVTA-approved training and strong communication skills. Candidates should have at least 1 year of related experience and be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, in a patient-focused team setting.

Qualifications

• NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year related experience; customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and technicians to ensure quality pet care.
• Educate clients on wellness plans and preventive care.
• Obtain patient history and maintain medical charts.
• Ensure safety and sanitation in exam rooms and labs.
• Assist with surgery as applicable and mentor paraprofessionals.
• Communicate effectively with team to maintain workflow.
• Work with extended hours including weekends/evenings as needed.
