Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital seeks a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, educating clients on pet health and hospital services. You will help maintain medical records, assist with procedures, and ensure safe, clean treatment areas, working closely with the veterinary team.

The role requires NAVTA-certified training or equivalent, 18+ years old, and at least 1 year of related experience; strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Certificate of completion from a NAVTA approved Veterinary Assistant program, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to perform NAVTA approved veterinary assistant programs at a level to aid in efficiency of the practice.
• Must be at least 18 years old to perform duties involving radiography.
• One year related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and technicians to ensure quality care.
• Educate clients about pet health and wellness plans.
• Obtain patient history and maintain medical charts.
• Assist with surgeries and prep work as permitted.
• Maintain clean, safe and organized treatment areas.
• Mentor paraprofessionals in the hospital.
