Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in delivering quality care for pets. You will educate clients, help maintain a safe hospital environment, and assist with procedures as needed.

The role requires NAVTA-certified training or equivalent, a patient-centric approach, and strong communication with staff and clients. Weekend and evening shifts may be required, with a focus on compassionate, efficient care.

Qualifications

• Certificate of NAVTA approved Veterinary Assistant program, or equivalent education/experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old to perform radiography duties.
• One year related customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
• Act as the extra eyes, ears and hands for the veterinarian and veterinary technician to ensure the best quality pet care and to maximize productivity.
• Communicate with veterinarian, veterinary technicians and all other associates to maintain the flow of patients.
• Provide professional, efficient and exceptional service at all times, including prep work and ensuring client and pet comfort.
• Educate clients about wellness plans, preventive care and hospital services.
• Obtain and maintain complete medical histories and charts.
