Job Summary

The Veterinary Assistant is a key member of the hospital team who supports and assists veterinarians and veterinary technicians, ensuring pet, client, and associate safety, and the continuity of quality veterinary care.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
• Maintain the flow of patients.
• Communicate with veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
• Carry out or set up procedures that do not require veterinarian or veterinary technician assistance.
• Adhere to hospital standards that keep pets safe and keep treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs clean and organized.
• Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans and the importance of preventive care.
• Mentor other members of the hospital team.
• Perform all required skills of a NAVTA‑approved veterinary assistant program at a level that aids in the efficiency of the practice.

Qualifications

• Certificate of completion from a NAVTA‑approved veterinary assistant program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to perform all required skills of a NAVTA‑approved veterinary assistant program.

Pay

The pay range for this role is $18.40 - $23.51 per hour.
